Dreame Cordless Hoovers: Sticks and Wet-Dry Cleaners Explained

We may earn a commission when you buy through links on this page, at no extra cost to you. How this works.

Dreame sells powerful cordless sticks and some of the best H-series wet and dry floor cleaners in the UK, and they usually cost much less than a Dyson with similar specs. The catch is a confusing, fast-changing range and a UK parts and repair network that's still growing. Buy a well-reviewed current model from a UK seller and Dreame is very good value.

Quick answer: For hard floors that need washing, a mid-range Dreame H-series (H12 Pro class or newer) competes directly with Tineco's Floor One. For a dry stick with high-end specs at a mid-range price, look at Dreame's Z or R-series. Avoid older grey-import V-series units with no UK warranty.

The Dreame cordless range at a glance

Dreame Technology is a Chinese company that began in the Xiaomi ecosystem (its early sticks were sold under Xiaomi branding) and is now a global brand in its own right. It releases new models quickly, and the UK range usually mixes the current flagship with several older generations at lower prices.

SeriesTypeBest forTypical price band
V-series (V11, V12 and similar)Older dry sticksBudget buyers, if sold with UK warranty£150–£250
R-series (R10, R20 class)Mid/upper dry sticksStrong all-rounders, pet homes£200–£400
Z-series (Z10 Station, Z20, Z30 incl. Aqua variants)Flagship sticks, some with station or mop headLarge homes, self-emptying, one-machine setups£400–£700
H-series (H12 Pro, H13/H14/H15 Pro class)Wet and dry floor cleanersKitchens, sealed hard floors, pet mess£250–£600

These are typical bands, not live prices. Dreame discounts aggressively on Amazon and its own UK store, so check price history before buying.

How the Dreame naming works

  • Letter = family. V is the older mainstream sticks, R the newer mid-range and pet-focused sticks, Z the flagships, H the wet and dry washers, and T a sub-range of mid-range sticks.
  • Number = generation and tier. A higher number is generally newer and better within a family (Z30 is above Z20), but the numbers aren't comparable across families.
  • Suffixes such as Pro, Pet, Station, Aqua and Ultra mean extra tools, a self-emptying base, an attachable mop head or a premium bundle. Dreame's 2026 flagship Z30 Pro Aqua, for example, adds wet mopping to a stick vacuum.

Because Dreame sells globally, launch announcements, especially at CES and IFA, don't always mean a UK release. Check a UK retailer listing and the UK warranty before you get attached to a model.

Key Dreame tech explained

Suction specs

Dreame publishes big numbers: high air watts for its sticks and suction in pascals (Pa) for its wet-dry machines. They are measured at the motor on maximum power, and they don't tell you how well a floor head cleans carpet. Use them to compare Dreame models with each other, not Dreame with Dyson. Our suction power guide explains why.

Anti-tangle and dirt detection

Recent R and Z-series sticks use anti-tangle brush designs (comb or cutter systems) and dust sensors that adjust power. They work in the same way as Shark's and Dyson's systems. Owner feedback on long hair is good on recent models but less consistent than for Shark's Anti Hair Wrap.

Wet-dry edge cleaning and self-cleaning

Dreame's H-series pushed edge-to-edge cleaning and lie-flat designs that reach under kickboards and sofas. Better models clean the roller with hot water and dry it with hot air in the dock, which is the most important hygiene feature on any wet-dry machine.

Best Dreame overall

Dreame H12 Pro / H-series (current mid-range)

Dreame's mid-range H-series offers the best value in its lineup. It vacuums and washes hard floors in one pass, adjusts water and suction automatically and dries the roller in the dock. The H12 Pro is an older but proven option often found discounted. Newer H14/H15-class models add better edge cleaning and lie-flat reach for more money. Compare it with Tineco in our wet and dry roundup.

  • Excellent on sticky kitchen mess
  • Self-clean with drying
  • Often heavily discounted
  • Heavy; not for stairs or carpet
  • Consumables add cost

Best value stick

Dreame R-series stick (R10 / R20 class)

The R-series is where Dreame's dry sticks make most sense. You get strong suction, anti-tangle brushes, removable batteries and a display at a price closer to a Shark than a Dyson V15. Long-term reliability is less documented than for the big brands, so buy from a retailer with good returns.

  • High-end spec at mid price
  • Removable battery
  • Smaller UK spares network
  • Naming varies by retailer

Best flagship

Dreame Z-series (Z20 / Z30 Station or Aqua)

For buyers who want a self-emptying station or a stick that can also mop, the Z-series is Dreame's answer to the Dyson Gen5detect and Shark PowerDetect Clean & Empty. It's expensive at full price but often discounted. A combined stick-and-mop isn't as good at washing as a dedicated H-series machine. See self-emptying hoovers for alternatives.

  • Flagship features
  • Long claimed runtimes
  • Pricey at RRP
  • Station takes floor space

Dreame vs Dyson and Tineco

Against Dyson, Dreame wins on spec per pound, and Dyson wins on floor-head design for carpets, parts availability and a huge UK repair and refurb network. Against Tineco, it's close. Both make top wet-dry machines, and the right choice usually comes down to which model is better discounted that month and which has the better edge-cleaning and drying design.

Reliability, parts and warranty

Dreame UK has typically offered a 2-year warranty on cordless products bought from authorised sellers. Check your listing, as marketplace imports may not qualify. Filters, rollers and solution are easy to buy online, but batteries and model-specific parts can run out for older generations. Read our warranty guide before buying from a third-party marketplace seller.

Where to buy Dreame

Dreame's own UK store and Amazon UK carry the most models. Argos, Currys and some supermarkets stock selected models. Make sure the listing says "UK version" with a UK plug and that the seller is in the UK. Dreame's best prices tend to come around Prime Day and Black Friday. See our sale guide.

FAQs

Is Dreame a reliable brand?

Recent Dreame products are generally well reviewed, but long-term reliability data is thinner than for Dyson or Shark. Buying from an authorised UK seller with a 2-year warranty reduces the risk.

Is Dreame the same as Xiaomi?

No. Dreame started inside Xiaomi's partner ecosystem and made some Xiaomi-branded vacuums, but it's now an independent brand selling under its own name.

Is a Dreame better than a Dyson?

On paper, Dreame often gives you more suction and runtime for the money. Dyson tends to clean carpets better with its floor heads and has much better UK parts and repair support.

Can I use a Dreame wet-dry cleaner on wooden floors?

Yes, on sealed wood and laminate, using a low water setting. Avoid unsealed, waxed or oiled wood, and check your flooring maker's advice.
